EQUILIBRIUM
The Bristol Bay area of Alaska, perhaps the last great salmon fishery left in the world is threatened by the proposed Pebble Mine. The Federation of Fly Fishers and Trout Unlimited have joined other organizations in opposition to this mining activity. This beautiful film focuses on this ecosystem and how the returning salmon support it all from trout to bears to eagles.
RUSH RIVER CLEAN UP
Saturday April 19
Meet at 8:00 a.m. at the Ellsworth Rod and Gun Club, 5 miles east of Ellsworth on Wisconsin 72. Bring gloves and waders, trash bags instructions and lunch will be provided. Sign up with Sarah Sanford (TU) at rushclean2008@yahoo.com. We will be joining Trout Unlimited in a great joint effort to clean this river we all enjoy so much. She told me that 80 people have already committed to the day, we need to be there. The event will be held, rain or shine.
FLY FISHING WORKSHOP

William O'Brien State Park

FREE and open to the public is an all day fly fishing workshop sponsored by the St Croix National Scenic Riverway to be held at William O'Brien State Park, Marine on St Croix. (651-433-0500) Classes in fly tying, history, entomology, conservation, equipment and casting instruction will be provided. No registration is required. An entrance pass is required to enter the park. All equipment will be provided or bring your own if you wish and a lunch for a picnic in the park.
